In this work, we developed a hierarchical core/shell structure of MnO2@PANI composites grown on carbon fiber paper. MnO2 nanosheets have a high surface area on carbon fiber paper. An electrodeposition of polyaniline (PANI) was performed on surface of MnO2/carbon fiber paper (CFP). As-prepared MnO2@PANI/carbon fiber paper (CFP) shows rake-like shape, which is favorable a fast electron transfer. MnO2@PANI/CFP material is characterized by scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction. Electrochemical performance of the MnO2@PANI/CFP electrode was studied by cyclic voltammetry, galvanostatic charge/discharge, and electrochemical impedence spectroscopy. The MnO2@PANI/CFP electrode showed a high specific capacitance of 437 F g–1 at 1A g-1, a good rate capability, and an excellent cycling stability.
