We have synthesized three novel cobalt(II) monomeric complexes by using ligands Ln [Ln = LA, LB, and LC; LA = 4-(pyridine-2-ylmethyl)morpholine; LB = 4-(quinolin-2-ylmethyl)morpholine; LC = 2-(piperidin-1-ylmethyl)quinolone] with cobalt(II) chloride in ethanol. The prepared cobalt(II) complexes, namely [LnCoCl2] (Ln = LA for 1; LB for 2, LC for 3), were characterized by NMR, FT-IR, elemental analyzer and single crystal X-ray diffractometry. In all complexes, cobalt(II) ions adopt a four-coordinate distorted tetrahedral geometry and are bonded with two N atoms from ligands and two Cl anions. In addition, the catalytic effects of cobalt(II) complexes toward the polymerization of several cyclic olefins in presence of MMAO, were investigated at a different condition of polymerization. |
