High pressure catalytic pyrolysis using a HP tandem micro-reactor-GC/MS |

Control modules for the reaction pressure of the catalytic reactor are introduced to allow the on-line analysis of reaction products by GC/MS interfaced with a tandem micro-reactor. To keep the GC column flow rate constant irrespective of the reaction pressure, a restrictor tube and an open split interface are attached between the GC injection port and the head of a GC separation column. Capability of the attached modules is demonstrated for on-line GC/MS analysis of catalytic reaction products produced under 1 to 3 MPa pressure. In this study, a new pyrolyzer-GC/MS system for the high pressure catalytic reaction and the analysis of the reaction products was introduced together with several experimental results. |
