제목 Synthesis of β-Cyclodextrin End-functionalized Amphiphilic Polystyrene
초록 Cyclodextrin(CD)s have been molecules of interests and studied extensively mainly because of their ability to form complexes with a large variety of hydrophobic organic molecules. We synthesized β-CD end-functionalized amphiphilic polystyrene(PS)s that are expected to show interesting nanostructural morphology through self-assembly like many other amphiphilic molecules. The β-CD functionalized polymer was synthesized by using a mono-functionalized β-CD as a initiator via atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP). The CD initiator was synthesized by a 1,3-dipolaric cycloaddition of propargyl 2-bromoisobutyrate to a mono-azide-CD. The synthesis, characterization, and their self-assembled structures will be presented.
