제목 Removal of acetone in air by using nonthermal plasma–catalytic process
초록 The removal of acetone in dry air using a plasma–catalytic multi–hole porous ceramic membrane reactor was investigated in this study. The influences of zinc oxide and manganese dioxide coated onto the ceramic membranes on the reactor performance were experimentally examined. By using MnO2 (0.1 wt% Mn)–MnO2 (5.0 wt% Mn) catalyst configuration, in which the MnO2 (0.1 wt% Mn) coated ceramic membrane was exposed to the plasma and the MnO2 (5.0 wt% Mn) coated one was placed in the post-plasma region, more than 90 % of acetone was decomposed at 1031 J L-1 of SIE, while that obtained with the bare ceramic membranes was about 66 %. The use of zinc oxide in the plasma did not significantly improve the acetone removal efficiency. Regardless of location in the reactor, manganese dioxide strongly affected the performance of the reactor in the removal of acetone and the decomposition of ozone. Moreover, the synergistic effect of the plasma and manganese dioxide significantly enhanced byproduct selectivity toward CO2.
