제목 Photo-stability study of qunatum dot encapsuleated in polymeric microcapsules
초록  Quantum dots (QDs) have recently emerged as next-generation display material with high color gamut and size-dependent color emission. But, QDs are still suitable for commercialization because its photoluminescence is easily degraded, which is caused by photo-instability and many environmental factors like heat and humidity. We designed polymeric microcapsule to prevent aggregation between QDs and protect them from the environments. Through accelerated life testing, we have confirmed that the microcapsule securely protected QDs. Here we test the photo-stability of QDs encapsulated by polymeric microcapsule with a home-made testing device where it keeps distance from light source of blue LED to avoid heat. And in order to eliminate oxygen effect, the device is placed in the nitrogen fiiled chamber. Test samples are a form of transparent film where the microcapsules are dispersed in two matrix resins, UV curable urethane acrylate and theramlly curable silicone resins. Photoluminescence intensity was monitered after month-long exposure under the blue LED light.
