The emission of cadmium from industries into environment has resulted in serious environmental problems. Therefore, it is very important to develop effective methods for removal of Cadmium from wastewater before it entries into the natural environmnents. Among the different traditional methods, sorption technology is one of the most recommended treatment processes thanks to its simplicitiy, flexibility and high efficiency in industrial application. In this study, we developed a fibrous form sorbent of chitosan for removal of Cd(II). The chitosan fiber exhibited a good sorption capacity towards Cd(II). |
