Hydrodechlorination(HDC) reaction of chlorophenols was carried out using Pd catalysts supported over charcoal, zeolite Y and graphene. These catalysts were applied to HDC reaction of chlorophenols, such as mono-, di-, and tri-chlorophenols. The HDC reaction rate of chlorophenols was compared according to the number and location of the replaced chlorine in aromatic ring. First, the decomposition rate of dichlorophenols was tested according to the type of catalysts. It was found that the Pd/G catalyst showed the highest catalytic performance among Pd-C, Pd-Y, and Pd/G catalysts under the same conditions as the amount of solvent and base. Second, the decomposition rate of the three trichlorophenols(TCPs) was compared using the Pd/G. 2,3,5-TCP and 2,3,6-TCP were all decomposed to the cyclohexanone within 1.5h. However, 2,4,6-TCP was all taken apart about 2h. It is remarkable that reaction intermediates in the case of 2,4-DCP, 2,6-DCP were detected and then disappeared. |
