제목 Flocculation and Algicidal Effect of Water soluble Chitosan against Harmful Green-Tide species
초록 In this study, we prepared to various molecular-weight water soluble chitosan to remove harmful green-tide (HGT) from the fresh water. Chitosan has a potential ability such as removal and flocculation against HGT without cytotoxicity at fresh water organisms. We suggest that the chitosan is a new algicide which is able to remove to HGT. The flocculation and removal effects of HGT were confirmed according to concentration of chitosan. Furthermore, we could find that the membrane of green tide was disrupted by treated chitosan. This result is considered that strong electrostatic interaction is induced between chitosan and HGT. In addition, to analyze algicidal ability of chitosan against HGT, chlorophyll A was analyzed by UV-vis spectrophotometer. Moreover, cytotoxicity of chitosan was evaluated by MTT assay. These results suggest that chitosan can control HGT with minimal impact on ecology. (No. NRF-2014R1A2A1A10053027).
