pH- and thermo-sensitive microgels composed of cinnamic acid-Pluronic F127 conjugate and cinnamic acid-gelatin conjugate loading doxorubicin |

Cinnamic acid-Pluronic F127 conjugate (CinPlu) and cinnamic acid-gelatin (type B) conjugate (CinGelB) were used to prepared microgels. The cinnamic acid(CA) residues of CinPlu/CinGelB mixture were photo-dimerized to form microgels by UV irradiation. The isoelectric point of the microgel was found around pH 5.8. The hydrodynamic diameter of microgel decreased when increasing the suspension temperature. The microgels were nearly circular objects and the diameter were several hundred nanometers observed by the TEM photos. The microgel could not sustain the release of doxorubicin (DOX) at pH 3.0 and pH 5.0, but it could sustain the release at pH 7.4. Meanwhile, when the release medium temperature was higher, the release of DOX at pH 7.4 was less suppressed. |
