2′,4′-Dihydroxy-6′-methoxy-3′,5′-dimethylchalcone (DMC) is a calcone based compund extracted from cleistocalyx operculatushas that recently attracted considerable attention owing to its pharmaceutical activities such as anti-cancer, anti-diabetic, anti-inflammatory. In this study we work on the total synthesis of DMC and eleven DMC derivatives. 2',4',6'-trimethoxy-3,5-dimethylacetophenone on the left aromatic ring was fabricated with various functional groups. Our synthetic route is advantageous for efficiently pro-ducing a library of DMC derivatives. |
