Optical Activity of Chiral Salen Complexes Supported on Core-Shell Shaped MCM-41 for Synthesis of Optically Pure Terminal Epoxides |

Chiral Co (salen) complexes have been found to be high enantioselectivity for the asymmetric ring opening reaction. Shell type MCM-41 can be attractive support for the catalytic reaction. we synthesized polymeric chiral salen complex supported on the shell shaped silica. The activity and enatioselectivity of the heterogeneous catalysts were examined in the ring opening reaction of epichlorohydrin(ECH) with phenol. The results using polymeric chiral salen immobilized on shell-type MCM-41 exhibited similar optical activity as homogeneous one. |
