Many previous studies have been focused to confirm the changes of product distributions according to metal-support interactions on Co-based Fischer-Tropsch synthesis (FTS) catalysts. In the present study, the correlations between CH4 selectivity and DOR (degree of reduction of the similar cobalt particle size in the range of 10 ~ 16 nm) were investigated by using Co/SBA-15, Co/P-Al2O3 and Co/Al2O3-SiC. Depending on the metal-support interactions, the oxidation states of active cobalt nanoparticles and their reducibility were significantly changed with different product distributions. The more strongly interacted Co nanoparticles with higher oxidation states were responsible for a higher tendency for CH4 formation due to the preferential formation of partially oxidized Co nanoparticles. |
