The effect of promotor such as Y, Co, Pt, and Pd added to Ni/AC catalyst on valine gasification in supercritical water at 600 oC, 28 MPa, and 24 h-1 LHSV was investigated. Valine served as a model compound for nitrogenous constituents such as protein contained in the wastes. The promotors of Co, Pt, and Pd increased total gas yield by catalyzing C-C cleavage reactions of light hydrocarbon intermediates. The content of C2 and C3 hydrocarbons with these promotors was less than 0.2 mol% while that with Y promotor was about 23 mol%. Hydrogen and oxygen gasification efficiencies in the presene of Co, Pt, and Pd promotors were more than 150 %. |
