제목 Synthesis of methyl-substituted polyimide for gas separation
초록 Polyimide are one of the glassy polymer for gas separation materials. It have excellent mechanical strength, chemical resistance and high selectivity for gas separation. However, it is limited to commercial due to the insolubiltiy to process and relatively low peremability. We synthesized co-polyimide using alicyclic dianhydride named as DOCDA and diamines including ODA and 50 mol% of methyl-substituted phenylenediamines. The rigid, but nonplanar structures of the polymer including methyl groups make chain packing inefficient, increasing both diffusivity and solubility coefficients of the gases. Synthesis of the co-polyimides are characterized by FT-IR and NMR while thermal properties are analyzed by DSC and TGA. All the co-polyimides are soluble in most of the common solvents, implicating these polyimides are suitable for membrane fabrication. The pure gas permeability and selectivity for CO2, N2, O2, and CH4 were measure by time-lag apparatus.
