The development of highly efficient photocatalytic systems with rapid photogenerated charge separation and high surface catalytic activity is highly desirable for the conversion of solar energy, yet remains a grand challenge. Recently, CdS has emerged as one of the most studied photocatalysts with a direct band gap of 2.4 eV, which is suitable for visible light H2 evolution reaction. However, it suffers from severe photocorrosion and rapid charge recombination. Upon loading proper cocatalysts, CdS could greatly improve the catalytic activity and stability. Therefore, in this work, we are preparing CdS-VS4 photocatalytic system for H2 evolution reaction. The obtained novel CdS-VS4 heterojucntioned photocatalyst shows significant improvement on photocatalytic H2 evolution activity under simulated solar irradiation. |
