Cellulose nanofibers improve the mechanical properties of composites without affecting the flexibility of the composite. Currently, much research has been done on cellulose, but still, there is a limit to dispersing it in an immiscible polymer matrix. For making two materials into a composite, we used a Pickering emulsification method which stabilizes an emulsion by solid particles. Herein, CNF covers the dispersed polymer droplets on the water in a simple way such as blending. In the study, the morphology of this composite was characterized by Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), and the elements of the composite were measured by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDX). Moreover, the tensile testing was performed for the mechanical properties of CNF-polymer composites. |
