This study was investigated to test the combustion characteristics of wood specimens for the constructional interiors, especially focusing on Chung’s equation-IV which was defined as fire risk properties. Fire risk properties were measured by using a cone calorimeter (ISO 5660-1). The external heat flux was maintained at 35 kW/m2. Fire performance index-III increased by 2.2 ~ 3.6 times compared with Japanese cedar, respectively. The fire growth index-III increased by 1.1 ~ 3.1 times compared with Red pine. Fire risk index-IV by fire risk rating index increased by 1.0 ~ 8.5 times compared with Spruce and it increased in order of Spruce, Red pine < Lauan < Japanese cedar. According to comprehensive assessment of fire risk properties, Spruce and Red pine showed lowest fire risk materials among the woods. |
