제목 Enhanced Photocurrent Generation by Fluorescence Resonance Energy Transfer between Phospholipid-Assembled Conjugated Oligoelectrolytes and Nile Red
초록 We present that the fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) between a conjugated oligoelectrolyte based on distyrylstilbene (DSSN+) and Nile red can enhance the photocurrent generation when the photo-agents are assembled vertically on gold electrodes. DSSN+ and Nile red intercalated into phospholipid membranes of unilamellar vesicles were found to be a useful FRET system because of solvatochromatic properties of DSSN+ and accordingly accompanied photophysical properties suitable for FRET with Nile red. As a result, 93~94% of FRET efficiency has been achieved as examined by steady-state and time-resolved fluorescence spectra in vesicle solutions. When Nile red is tethered in a self-assembled monolayer (SAM) of 11-mercaptoundecanoic acid on gold electrodes and phospholipid-assembed DSSN+ are sequentially organized on the SAM, the anodic photocurrent is notably increased reaching at about 820 nA/cm2 in virtue of FRET between dyes in the vectorial alignment.
