제목 | Extraction of 5-hydroxymethyl-2-furfural from HFCS by Heterogeneous Catalyst in Continuous Reactor |
초록 | Furan-based compounds of 5-hydroxymethyl-2-furfural (HMF) is a typical biomass-derived platforms for replacing compound a BTX-based aromatic compound as produced from petroleum. Generally, HMF obtained by dehydration reaction of fructose under the acid catalyst condition by using the high boiling aprotic polar solvent, such as DMSO. High fructose corn syrup(HFCS) is an easy form of fructose storage chemical. It contained 25% of water and 75% of sugars(glucose 20% and fructose 80%). In this study, the low boiling point solvent and heterogeneous acid catalyst were used for synthesis of HMF through a continuous reaction system. Recently reported that is also able to produce a good yielding HMF. However, there is a downside to this method of removing DMSO. Therefore, the extraction method was used to remove the DMSO and obtain the test specimen for high purity HMF. The results of the sampling experiment showed that the purity of the HMF was increased from 12 % to 93 %. |
