Bowl-shaped microparticles are of great significance for their potential application due to their high surface area. The bowl-shaped microparticles have been commonly prepared by the freeze-drying process. In the present study, we introduce a facile method to prepare the bowl-shaped polystyrene microparticles via the controlled evaporation process without freezing-drying. And the effects of type of solvent, swelling time, seed morphology were investigated. By adding the metal precursor, we could also prepared bowl-shaped polystyrene microparticles with metal nanocrystals in a sing step. |
