제목 Targeting-imaging studies of Hep-G2 cells using ß-galactose-immobilized gold nanoparticles
초록 Mercaptosuccinic acid (M)-coated gold nanoparticles (MGNP) were prepared and characterized by TEM and DLS. M was used to improve the biocompatibility, monodispersity and non-specific intracellular uptake of nanoparticles. ß-Galactose (Lactobionic acid) (L) was subsequently conjugated to the MGNP to preferentially target Hep-G2 cells (liver cancer cells) those have ASGP receptors expressed on their surfaces and facilitate the transit of nanoparticles across the cell membrane. Finally, fluorescence cyanine dye (Cy 5) was added to the nanoparticles to visualize the nanoparticle internalization into Hep-G2 cells. After culture of the cells in a media containing the MGNP and L-conjugated MGNP (LMGNP), the interaction of surface-modified gold nanoparticles with Hep-G2 cells was studied.
