제목 Synthesis of Poly(arylene ether ketone) Membrane functionalized with Cyclic Ammonium DABCO for Alkaline Water Electrolysis
초록 We synthesized Poly (arylene ether ketone) membrane functionalized with cyclic ammonium 1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane (PAEK-DABCO) to apply for water electrolysis. Chemical structure of PAEK-DABCO was confirmed by H-NMR spectra, proving the success of tethering BEA-DABCO onto the main chain. Physical properties of membranes were additionally investigated. Besides, membranes were immersed in NaOH 2M at 60oC during 28 days to evaluate the chemical stability. PAEK-DABCO-150 exhibited the best anion conductivity (15 mS.cm-1 at 60oC) with acceptable water uptake value (< 40% at 60oC). As for thermal and chemical stability, PAEK-DABCO-150 was far superior to commercial fumasep FAA-3, which heavily deformed, chemically degraded at elevated temperature in alkaline condition. The electrolytic test demonstrates that PAEK-DABCO-150 possessed the highest performance among others, which confirms that it is quite approvable alternative for commercial fumasep FAA-3.
