N2 and Ar adsorption Behaviors on Microporosity of Activated Carbons |

In this work, we studied the effect of the microporosity of activated carbons prepared by KOH activation. The surface morphology was examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The elemental composition of the surface of the activated carbons was characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The structural properties were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD). The specific surface area and micropore volumes of the activated carbons were determinate using the Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) and Dubinin-Radushkevich (D-R) equation. A series of samples were characterizated using nitrogen and argon adsorption. And experimental results demonstrate argon adsorption in narrow carbon micropores. |
