제목 Ring Opening Copolymerization of CO2 / Propylene Oxide with Multifunctional Polypropylene Glycol Initiators using Double Metal Cyanide Catalysts
초록 Aliphatic polycarbonate (PC) polyols were synthesized by ring opening copolymerization of propylene oxide and carbon dioxide using polypropylene glycol (PPG) as an initiator in the presence of double metal cyanide (DMC) catalyst. The end group functionality was controlled by using small molecular weight PPG initiator with different functionalities. DMC catalysts were prepared by reacting zinc chloride and potassium hexacyanocobaltate in the presence of various complexing agents. The chemical, physical properties of polyols were characterized by various spectroscopic techniques and gel permeation chromatography. The thermal behavior of PC polyol is studied by differential scanning calorimetry and thermo gravimetric analysis. The results revealed that the selectivity to carbonate formation was higher than 30 %. The DMC catalysts are a good toolkit for the efficient synthesis of PC polyols
