제목 | Elucidating underlying mechanism of DME-based LHCE with functional additive for high voltage LiCoO2 cathode and Li metal anode |
초록 | Advanced electrolyte system of localized highly concentrate electrolyte (LHCE) for lithium metal batteries attracted much attention of researchers due to their high oxidative stability, low viscosity, and low cost. Herein, we propose a novel DME-based LHCE system with functional additive in 4.4V LiCoO2|Li cell at 0.5C rate. A novel DME-based LHCE can suppress generation of reactive oxygen at LiCoO2 cathode by trapping the electron-rich part of reactive oxygen with electron-deficient part of functional additive. Furthermore, a novel DME-based LHCE with additive can reduce the side reaction between electrolyte and lithium metal by forming LiF-rich SEI layer on lithium metal. As a result, cycle performance of DME-based LHCE improve from 146 cycles to 171cycles with capacity retention ≈ 80%, 0.5C current density by stabilizing the interface of lithium metal and LiCoO2 cathode. |
