For anode catalysts of direct methanol fuel cells (DMFCs), Platinum (Pt) nanoparticles (NPs) were supported on poly(diallyldimethylammonium chloride) (PDDA) modified reduced graphene oxide (RGO) with the aid of Poly(sodium 4-styrenesulfonate) (PSS). Electrochemical properties of the catalysts were compared by measuring cyclic voltammetry (CV) and morphology and crystallinity of the as-synthesized samples were analyzed by Fourier transform infrared spectrometry (FT-IR), average sizes and lattice parameters were measured by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The results showed that the PDDA-PRGO successfully decorated Pt nanoparticles with the crystallite narrow size, also demonstrated high electrochemical surface area (ECSA) and an enhanced tolerance towards poisoning by CO. |
