Ligated Anionic Polymerization of Methyl Methacrylate. |

Living anionic polymerization of methyl methacrylate is achieved using (1,1-dipehylhexyl)lithium as initiator in tetrahydrofuran at -78℃ , and in the presence of dilithium triethylene glycoxide at 0℃. High initiator efficiencies and narrow molecular weight distributions were obtained. The beneficial effect of dilithium triethylene glycoxide was attributed to the coordination with enolate ion pairs providing stabilization to ligand-complexed ion pairs. some of the eluograms of the PMMA possess a tailing, which can be attributed to inhomogenity caused during the monomer addition. |
