Liquid organic hydrogen carrier (LOHC) has been considered as the prominent hydrogen storage. It has the advantage of high hydrogen content (5-8 wt%), high boling point, low melting point, and mild reaction condition. In this study, benzyl pyridine (BPy) and diphenyl methane (DPM) were selected as a model compound for LOHC. The hydrogenation and dehydrogenation activities of supported metal catalysts were tested. The reaction results could be supported by density functional theory (DFT) results. Additionally, the highly efficient metals were chosen for each reaction. |
