Catalytic Activity of Pt Nanocatalysts Synthesized by Spray Pyrolysis Process with Metal Oxide |
초록 |
Platinum (Pt) is widely used as automobile catalysts because of its excellent catalytic property. The well-dispersed Pt nanoparticles on supports such as metal or ceramic particles have excellent catalytic activity because of high specific surface area. In particular, Pt-based catalyst is usually used to change from carbon monoxide (CO) to carbon dioxide (CO2) in purification system of automobile. Therefore, interaction of the Pt nanoparticles and support is important to keep high specific surface area. In this study, to investigate the effect of supports, Pt-based catalyst with various oxide materials such as alumina (Al2O3), silica (SiO2), and ceria (CeO2) is successfully synthesized by spray pyrolysis process. Pt-based catalyst is prepared by spray pyrolysis process as control with reaction temperature, Pt salt and oxide material ratio, and flow rate of carrier gas. The microstructure and size distribution of Pt-based catalyst after heat treatment are measured by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The crystallinity is confirmed by X-ray diffractometer (XRD). When CeO2 is used as support, the average size of Pt particle was about 6 nm and in case of CeO2 support is used, the Pt particle size was the smallest among the supports. Also, catalytic activity can confirm through CO oxidation. Pt/CeO2 hybrid catalyst is the most excellent catalytic activity compared with other samples such as Pt/Al2O3 and Pt/SiO2 hybrid catalyst. |
