In present, automobile industries have interest in reducing stress caused by sound pollution. Polyurethane foams are extensively used as sound absorbing material because of their porous structure. The porous structure can absorb sound by morphology and damping effect. Moreover, to strengthen the properties, wood fibers were added and treated with alkalization and silanization, using sodium hydroxide, triethoxyvinylsilane and 3-aminoproyltriethoxysilane. Through Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, the changes of surface property on wood fibers were obtained. After fabrication polyurethane composite foam, scanning electron microscope was used to analyze morphology, and dynamic mechanical analysis to damping property. Consequently, the results showed improved sound absorption properties of polyurethane composite foams by adding chemically treated wood fibers. |
