제목 Surface charge tuning of activated carbon and N/S/O doped carbon using Polyethyleneimine for waste water treatment
초록 Removal of organic contaminants from water bodies is one of the current hot issues due to its negative impact on aquatic life and human health. Among the available techniques, adsorption has proven to be efficient and cost-effective. This study investigated how polyethyleneimine (PEI) can tune the surface charge of carbon materials to form activated carbon and N/S/O doped carbon composite adsorbent. The carbon adsorbent was characterized using XPS, FTIR, TGA, SEM, and BET analysis. The performance of the adsorbent was evaluated using a batch adsorption experiment using different contaminate as an adsorbate. The crosslinked composite carbon showed good removal performance for a variety of water contaminants.
