Traditional SCR reaction shows DeNOx performance above about 250℃. In low temperature condition below 200℃, formation of ammonium salt can cause deactivation of SCR catalyst. This leads to the need of periodic regeneration of the catalyst. Also, NH3 slip can be occurred at low temperature due to low reactivity and this NH3 can be the source of fine dust. In order to overcome the limit of exciting SCR technology, SCR using hydrocarbon based on fuel has been widely investigated. In this case, no additional urea storage and supply system is necessary. However, reducibility of fuel itself is not enough for hydrocarbon SCR. Therefore, fuel is needed to be modified to the reductant that has high reducibility. In order to reform fuel, fuel-based reductant generation system using rotating arc plasma reactor was introduced. In this work, plasma reactor concept which enables momentary decomposition of hydrocarbon was applied to create fuel-based reductant like H2/CO, light hydrocarbon, and oxygenated hydrocarbon depending on the temperature of the latter part (catalyst). |
