제목 Substituents Engineered Deep-Red to Near Infrared Phosphorescence from tris-Heteroleptic IridiumIII Complexes for Highly Efficient Red-NIR Organic Light-Emitting Diodes
초록 The development of highly efficient, stable, and low-cost near-infrared (NIR) emitting luminophores is still a formidable challenge. We developed a series of deep-red to near infra-red emissive iridium(III) complexes (Ir1 - Ir8) which is based on electron-withdrawing (-CF3, -COOEt) and electron-donating (-CH3) substituents anchored on the quinoline moiety of (benzo[b]thiophen-2-yl) quinoline cyclometalating ligands. These substituents help to engineer the emission band gap systematically. In addition, we performed an in-depth and comparative study to investigate the effects of the substitution on photophysical, electrochemical properties. Most importantly, the -CF3 as well as -CH3 substituted complexes (Ir1 and Ir7) are promising with their phosphorescence quantum efficiency and these novel molecules can be a significant contribution for the development of deep red to NIR OLEDs.
