This study reports a pressure sensing platform technology, in which monodisperse polyurethane (PU) elastomer microparticles are fabricated by using microfluidic approach and consecutive surface coating is carried out to make carbon nanotubes layers. The deformability of particles has been controlled by polymerizing a series of urethane prepolymers having different soft segments. Then, we layer carbon nanotubes on the surface of the PU elastomer microparticles by layer-by-layer (L-b-L) deposition. Finally, we experimentally show that our conducting elastomer microparticles indeed play an essential role in precisely detecting pressure changes with excellent sensitivity and repeatability. |
