Injectable Cross-linked Hyaluronic Acid Hydrogel for Dermal Filler Application |

A new method has been developed to construct a bio-inspired hydrogels based on catechol chemistry. Dopamine conjugated hyaluronic acid (HA-DN) / Hexamethylendiamine (HMDA) hydrogels were cross-linked via amide bond of carboxyl groups of HA-DN and amine groups of HMDA. The formed hydrogels showed potential long-term stability under PBS solution and excellent biocompatibility. The characteristic of HA-DN/HMDA hydrogels was confirmed by rheological measurement, FT-IR and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). HA-DN/HMDA hydrogels could be a promising candidate for dermal filler, drug delivery and tissue engineering applications. This was supported by Korea National University of Transportation in 2016. |
