Electroluminescence of polymer EL device with CNT |

We demonstrate high performance AC field-induced electroluminescence (FPEL) with CNT-polymer nanocomposite. Brightness of EL device was enhanced more than a hundred times greater by small amount of SWNTs dispersed in polymer matrix than without SWNTs and realized FPEL device with 350cd/m2 at applied voltage and AC frequency of 25V and 300 kHz, respectively. Our SWNT-FPEL operates with hole and electron carriers in consecutive order injected through ambipolar carbon nanotubes according to AC electric field, followed by electron hole pair formation in organic polymer composite. Furthermore, our device provided very straightforward method to fabricate device structures which have great freedom in materials design issues concerned in conventional organic light emitting diodes, leading to a very cost effective and simply solution-processed device architecture applicable for flexible device and all red-green-blue(RGB) fluorescent polymers. |
