Keeping pace with noteworthy prospects of the flexible/wearable electronics, self-powered devices, and the Internet of Things (IoT), electronic systems have evolved from “immobile/bulky” to “portable/compact”, and became aesthetically versatile. Therefore, an essential prerequisite for portable electronics is the monolithic integration of energy storage devices for continuous use.. However, conventional rigid and bulky energy storage devices are not suitable for small and compact wearable electronics. Here, we demonstrate a new class of directly printable solid-state micro-supercapacitors. For facile integration with microscale devices, the supercapacitor requires a high-precision microscale direct ink writing (DIW) process and tailored component inks. The printed solid-state micro-supercapacitor showed great potential as an scalable platform for wearable electronics with continuous operation. |
