The effect of additives on anionic polymerization of isoprene was studied. Polyisoprene was synthesized by anionic polymerization at room temperature using sec-butyllithium as an initiator, and tetrahydrofuran and heptane were used as solvents. As additives alkylmagnesium and alkylaluminum were used. The additives did not change the microstructure of polyisoprene. It was observed that there is an effect of removing impurities by the additive without a distillation process required for anionic polymerization. In the presence of the additive, it was also confirmed that a high yield of polyisoprene could be obtained with controlled molecular weight, and a narrow molecular weight distribution. |
