Recently, hydrogels have received attention as controllable drug delivery systems in the pharmaceutical industry. The hydrogels have cross-linked networks made up of cross-linked hydrophilic polymers containing a significant amount of water. Active materials such as drugs or cells can be stored in the networks, which are applicable to various biomedical areas. In this study, using simple hydrogel system makes unique drug crystallization: Alginate solution cross-linked with sildenafil and calcium chloride mixed solution locking up drug in hydrogel. As a result, particle size of drug in hydrogel was reduced, and sildenafil in the hydrogel carriers shows fast release patterns. |
