Dye sensitized solar cell(DSSC) is still promising but leakage of liquid electrolyte is critical for the application of DSSC. To overcome this limitation, quasi-solid-state Dye-sensitized solar cell was fabricated. A carbonized Polyvinylidene chloride graft Poly 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate (PVDC-g-PHEA) is prepared and utilized as a nanofiller (NF) in polymer gel electrolyte based on poly(ethylene glycol)(PEG) for quasi solid state dye sensitized solar cells (QSDSSCs). The concentration effects of the carbonized PVDC-g-PHEA NFs to the conductivity of the electrolyte, and to the performance of the DSSCs were compared and studied. By adding NFs which was prepared by carbonizing synthesized PVDC-g-PHEA with better graphitization conditions into PEG electrolyte reduced crystallinity that improved the electrolyte conductivity and efficiency. Electrochemical and material properties were characterized using Raman spectroscopy, SEM, TEM, DSC, IMPS/IMVS, EIS, JV curve, and IPCE. |
