We report a molecular conformation of stiff polyelectrolyte brushes under external condition. In this work, the effect of chain conformation and salt concentration about static and dynamic response of the brushes are addressed in detail. The increase of salt concentration results cause stretching or shrinkage of grafted chains. At stiff polyelectrolyte, charged chains are also sensitive to the change of salt concentration like flexible brush. we found the critical point of salt concentration where the stiff brushes undergo a conformational transition from swelling to collapse. |
