Electro active polymers have been largely studied due to their high field-induced strain. They can be used as actuators, speaker panel and robotic hands in a broad range of applications. However, most dielectric elastomers require high driving electric field experimentally. Therefore, to decrease the required amplitude of electric field and still maintain high strain, the composite system using filler is needed. In this presentation, poly (styrene-b-ethylbutylene-b-styrene) (SEBS) triblock copolymer filled with various fillers such as Cabon black, SWNT and CuPc was studied. It showed that electromechanical strain responses of composite consisting multi-phased SEBS and fillers were significantly affected by concentration, type and shape of filler. |
