제목 Effect on performance improvement of supercapacitor according to Co3O4 nanofiller morphology
초록 Supercapacitor is divided into electric double-layer capacitors (EDLCs) and pseudocapacitor according to the operation mechanism. In this study, we applied EDLCs operating through the charging-discharging reaction in the electric double layer to observe the effect on electrochemical performance according to the morphology of the nanofiller in the electrolyte. Electrodes prepared by applying active carbon slurry to carbon paper and PVA/KOH gel polymer electrolyte (GPE) were assembled and used in the electrochemical performance studies. Cobalt oxide (Co3O4) nanofillers were synthesized in urchin (U-Co3O4) and polyhedral (P-Co3O4) shapes and mixed with PVA/KOH electrolyte. OH- ions in the PVA/KOH electrolyte are moved through the applied charge. As the movement of OH- ions is enhanced, the ionic conductivity and other electrochemical performances are improved. In the case of PVA/KOH/U-Co3O4, the crystallinity of PVA/KOH GPE is reduced and facilitate the movement of OH- ions.
