Control over the release of adeno-associated viral vectors from the electrospun fibers |

In this presentation, adeno-associated viral (AAV) vector was encapsulated by electrospun fibers and released in the controlled manner. In the case of elastin-like polypeptide/poly(ε-caprolactone) (ELP/PCL) composite scaffolds, the scaffolds showed their capability of controlling the release profiles of virus and the release profiles of vectors from the optimized scaffolds even showed sustained manner. And the high cellular transduction efficiency and its capability of sustained release will provide tremendous opportunities for a variety of tissue engineering applications. Nano-layers (core/shell) in the electrospun microfibers, in the other hand, were also employed to control the viral release profils. The core/shell electrospun fibers showed their capability of discriminating the release profiles of viral vectors in each layer and the synergistic effect of multiple growth factors for greater potential in the term of neurite extension in neural regeneration. |
