제목 Radiation Grating of Vinyl Ether Monomers onto an ETFE Film
초록 Three vinyl ether (VE) monomers such as butyl vinyl ether (BVE), 2-chloro ethyl vinyl ether (CEVE) and 1,4-butanediol vinyl ether (BDVE) have been used to investigate for the simultaneous irradiation grafting of the vinyl ether monomers onto poly(ethylene-co-tetrafluoroethylene) (ETFE) film. It is interesting to note that out of three monomers used only CEVE shows higher degree of grafting (DOG) rather than BVE and BDVE at same irradiation conditions. In case of BDVE there is a formation of gelatin like materials after a certain dose, the reason is not certain but it can be due to high reactivity for homo polymerization. The effect of various irradiation conditions such as the total dose, dose rate, solvents and monomer concentration on the degree of grafting (DOG) of CEVE monomer onto ETFE films were also investigated. The Characterization of grafted films has been done by FT-IR, TGA and SEM EDX.
