ETP (ethylene-to-propylene) reaction is an alternative production strategy of propylene for satisfying the increasing worldwide demand of propylene. Moreover, it can be beneficial for controlling the regional balance between ethylene and propylene. SSZ-13 zeolite is the promising catalyst for ETP reaction due to its high propylene yield and catalytic stability. Herein, the selectivity and yield of propylene were increased by simply modifying ion-exchange procedure. During the modified ion-exchange step, mild dealumination that eliminating the aluminum species on the external surface of SSZ-13 zeolite were observed by 27Al solid-state MAS NMR and ICP elemental analysis. Due to this dealumination process, the catalytic acidity of SSZ-13 catalyst could be improved by the decrease of number of medium and strong acid sites that can cause rapid coke deposition thus the fast deactivation of catalyst, which was analyzed by NH3-TPD measurement. |
