Triazine based Polydendritic Microporous network (TMP) have been used as a green catalytic system for epoxidation of styrene in water. The TMP based catalytic system utilizes hydrogen peroxide as oxidant and Water as solvent The idea of utilizing water as ‘‘green’’ solvent in the epoxidation of styrene not only expresses the eco-freindly nature of water but also ease in separation of product and catalyst. The catalytic system can be regaded as “green” because it is metal free, utilizes water as sovent and ideal oxidant H2O2. This Triazine based polydendritic Microporous network afforded 92% conversion of styrene with 97% selectivity for epoxide in 6 hr. Moreover, this TMP catalyst can be readily recovered and reused up to 4 cycles without lost in its catalytic activity and selectivity. |
