Development of a porous elastic scaffold using supercritical CO2 foaming technique for cartilage tissue engineering |
초록 |
Supercritical carbon dioxide (SCCO2) is attractive, because its critical temperature and pressure values are relatively low. Poly(L-lactide-co-ε-caprolactone (PLCL) is a biodegradable polymer with elastic properties. It has been used in the development of scaffolds for cartilage tissue engineering. Usually, organic solvents such as chloroform or dichloromethane are used for the fabrication of a PLCL scaffold through conventional methods. This leads to a cytotoxic effect and a long processing time. In order to alleviate these problems, a supercritical fluid foaming technique is introduced here. In this study, we investigated the effects of pressure, temperature, and depressurization rate on the PLCL foaming. Further, scaffolds were evaluated by various tests. From the results, we confirmed that our scaffolds had the ability to function as scaffolds for cartilage tissue engineering |
