제목 Nanotube-on-Graphene hybrid structures for biosensor applications
초록 Living biological systems such as cells and tissues communicate with their external environment via ion channels that regulate intracellular ion concentrations. Conventional electrophysiology techniques including voltage/current clamp and patch clamp methods have been used to study such ion channel activities, but they tend to be invasive or even destructive. Accordingly, non-invasive and high-resolution detecting technique is critical to the next phase of electrophysiology. We fabricated the nanotube-on-graphene hybrid structures as a minimally invasive sensor platform to study biological systems. Nanotubes were utilized as an artificial nanofluidic channel which connects the graphene with the intracellular medium of cells/tissues. The nanotube-on-graphene hybrid structures ensured noninvasive and high-resolution electrical detection of ion channel activities in living cell lines.
